Accenture – Life Trends 2024

Accenture has published a report about the shifts in customers’ attitudes towards business, technology and their social lives, to help businesses define how to catalyze growth by staying relevant to customers.

“The speed of change in the world—from technology, from macroeconomic forces and more—has increased for both customers and businesses. Whether it’s defined as disruption or just plain change, there’s a pressing need for brands to welcome these changes as an opportunity for growth.”

Accenture‘s research defines 5 main trends:

  1. Where’s the love
(The “Shrinkflation” effect, and why customers feel less valued from brands.)
  2. The great interface shift
(Generative AI is upgrading people’s experience of the internet from transactional to personal, enabling them to feel more digitally understood and relevant than ever.)
  3. Meh-diocrity
(The lack of original content and the creativity stagnation: creativity was once about the audience, but has now become dependent on playing the tech system.)
  4. Error 429: Human request limit reached
(Technology feels like it’s happening to people rather than for them.)
  5. Decade of deconstruction
(Traditional life paths and milestones are being rerouted by new limitations, necessities and opportunities, significantly shifting demographics.)
