Mark Up – Brand and retail in search of the metaverse

A few days ago an interview of mine came out in Mark Up magazine in which I had the opportunity to talk about the essence of the Metaverse and the opportunities for brands.

We already have concrete examples of its application today: Fortnite and Roblox are video games but conceptually defined as closed Metaverses in which there is only one owner of everything.

Then there are open Metaverses such as The Sandbox and Decentraland where the land is sold to companies that become owners and on which they can build houses and businesses.

In addition to the closed and open Metaverses, a trend is to create their own three-dimensional environments/Metaverses where brands create a new univocal and direct relationship with their target, thus favoring the concept of evolution of the site and social pages.

This creates environments that perhaps don’t exploit the traffic of MOPs (Massive online Platforms – i.e. the main Metaverses mentioned) but which create an exclusive brand experience relationship for their own targets, B2B, B2C or even B2E (employees).

All of this is just the beginning of what we will see in the future.
